In this off-brand-Ikea-catalog book, one will find items like the BROOKA (sofa) and the ARSLE (table), along with their diagrams and dimensions in simple, straight-forward instructions. As the catalog continues, one can find more specialized items such as the BODAVEST (a restraining office chair) and GURNE (say it aloud!)—maybe not ready for purchase, but always ready for use.
This novel is a mixture of horror and dark humor all in one I had to finish reading in one sitting. The story itself is almost a normal, paranormal-type of story, but the fact the narrative is framed by the not-Ikea catalog as chapter breaks and as the setting, sets it apart from the run-of-the-mill horror novel. It’s a horrendous ride from the mundane customer service to the mind-breaking dead lunatics.
